01 · About us

Born at the university, proven in the field.

EWES grew out of the Environment Centre of the University of Lubumbashi–Society Interface, working with Belgian, French and Canadian partners. Its team brings together Congolese and international experts.

The company has established itself in drawing up and assessing the environmental plans of mining and oil projects. It studies natural and man-made risks, develops sites, supports environmental compliance and trains the sector’s managers and technicians.

02 · Our services

Three areas, one scientific standard.

Each area builds on the previous one: environmental data shape water management, which in turn guides our engineering works.

Who we work for

All our services
  • Mining, oil and mineral sectors

Feasibility studies, optimisation of operating conditions, environmental incidence studies.

  • The Congolese State

Environmental audits, restoration of polluted sites, characterisation of deposits on concessions to be awarded.

  • Continuing education

Coaching and refresher training for staff and managers of mining and mineral companies based in the DRC.

  • Researcher supervision

Support for private and public sector researchers in environment, water and engineering works.

ING · Engineering works

Design, equip, support.

Alongside the environment and water activities, EWES carries out engineering works: analytical instruments, building construction, IT and electricity.

Our engineering activities
Analytical instrumentsAdvice, supply, repair and training: pH meters, conductivity meters, gas analysers, and more.
Building constructionComputer-aided design, scale models, computer-aided site supervision and training in construction software.
ITAn IT activity complements EWES’s engineering offering.
ElectricityEngineering works in the field of electricity.
↳ Method

From sampling to report.

We measure before we conclude: our recommendations rest on data collected, analysed and modelled locally.

  1. 01

    Regulatory scoping

Analysis of the project and the applicable environmental obligations, then definition of the study scope.

  2. 02

    Fieldwork & sampling

On-site surveys and sampling of water, soil and air.

  3. 03

    Laboratory & modelling

Analyses, data processing and modelling of how the environment may evolve under different scenarios.

  4. 04

    Report, compliance & transfer

Impact assessments, management plans, annual reports and remediation plans, followed by training for your teams so the results last.
